MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Some of professional rodeo’s top athletes will compete for big money and a trip to the National Finals Rodeo when the Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup comes to Sioux Falls Sept. 25-27.
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, State of South Dakota, Experience Sioux Falls and Cinch are bringing the three-day event to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. With a $1.5 million payout, organizers bill the Governor’s Cup as the richest rodeo in South Dakota history.
The competition serves as a final opportunity for ProRodeo athletes to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo. The field will include the top four finishers in each event from the Cinch Playoffs in Puyallup, Washington, earlier in September, along with the top eight competitors from the Playoff Series standings.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
The event flyer also promotes free Buckle Ceremony after-parties and concerts following the Friday and Saturday night rodeo performances for ticket holders.
Tickets for the Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup are available through Ticketmaster or listen to KMIT 105.9 for your chance to win tickets!
