The Howard Tigers are state champions in 9A after rolling over Herreid/Selby Area 55-18 this afternoon.
Tigers running back John Callies went off for 138 yards and three touchdowns, Griffin Clubb added 115 yard and two scores, and Ty Beyer rushed four times for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Tigers quarterback Taiden Hoyer completed 1-of-2 passes for for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Howard led 14-6 after one quarter. The game was decided by the Tigers’ four unanswered second-quarter touchdowns.
Trey Hettick led the Herreid-Selby Area’s offense with three passing touchdowns and 238 yards on 17-of-25 passing.
