(MITCHELLNOW) A new class-action lawsuit could force the California owner of the Vivos xPoint bunker complex near Edgemont to pay more than $17 million to residents who leased the former military munitions bunkers as homes or survival shelters. South Dakota News Watch reports the suit claims Vivos xPoint Investment Group used an illegal lease that violates tenants’ rights and failed to deliver promised amenities such as medical and recreation facilities. A prior ruling against the company is now awaiting review by the South Dakota Supreme Court. One hundred fifty renters could qualify for refunds if the case succeeds.
