MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Community Blood Bank is issuing an urgent plea for blood donations as supplies dip dangerously low following the Fourth of July holiday. Officials say summer typically brings a 20 percent drop in donations, because many people are on vacation. At the same time, demand often increases, especially due to car accidents and other emergencies. Officials say just one serious crash can require up to 50 units of blood. To help boost donations, the Blood Bank is partnering with local businesses, including this Friday’s All-American Blood Drive at Texas Roadhouse in Sioux Falls. More drives are planned throughout the month. To find a donation location or schedule an appointment, visit cbb.lifeblood.org. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
