MITCHELL, S.D.  (MITCHELLNOW) The Corn Palace Festival could be moving back to its original spot on Main Street. This week, the festival’s ride provider, Timothy Bessette, brought up concerns about past issues like blocking businesses and crowd control. The Corn Palace Entertainment Board pointed out that having the rides in one area brings in more revenue. The 2024 festival had its best carnival earnings in five years, which helps fund free concerts. The board plans to work with Bessette and the fire department on a new layout for the event.
