Mitchell, S.D. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference released the 2022 preseason baseball polls this morning with the Tigers projected to finish 10th among conference coaches.

 

Head Coach Dubanoski and company are projected to finish tenth in the conference. After finishing last season with records of 16-25 overall and 9-19 in GPAC action, the Tigers will look to steal a spot in the top-8 for a playoff spot. DWU baseball steps to the plate opening the 2022 season on February 26 in Marshall, Missouri. The Tigers will play a double-header against Missouri Valley. First pitch of game one is set for noon with game two beginning around 2 p.m..

The GPAC Postseason Tournament will feature two four-team tournaments (Seeds 1,4,5,8 and Seeds 2,3,6,7) (double elimination) on May 5-7 at the sites of the top two seeds. Then the two tournament winners will play on Tuesday, May 10, in the GPAC Championship (one nine inning game) at the highest remaining seed.

Points were awarded on a 10-1 basis and coaches could not vote for their own team.
