Dakota Wesleyan men’s basketball opens up the season at the Corn Palace tonight for the start of the 2021-22 regular season against Dakota State. The DSU is 0-2 with losses to Midland and Doane.
DWU head coach Matt Wilber said the Trojans are a dangerous program.
“Dakota State did not score points in their first two games like they’re capable of,” Wilber said, “And it was their shooters just not making open 3s. If their shooters are getting and making open 3s, they’re going to play a lot better.”
DWU returns four of five starters from last season but will be without starting point guard Sawyer Schultz and forward Teegan Evers. Returning starters expected to play tonight include Jeff Schuch, Mason Larson and Koln Oppold.
Tipoff at the Corn Palace tonight is at 7 p.m. Pregame coverage on KMIT 105.9 FM or online at KMIT.com begins at 6:40 p.m.
