Mitchell, S.D. – The NAIA All-American committee announced the 2021 NAIA All-American award winners Thursday morning. Among the winners receiving All-American honors is sophomore middle hitter Ady Dwight from Langford, S.D.
The Langford, S.D. native, posted a total of; 473 kills and 136 blocks during the 35-match 2021 season. Dwight averaged 3.88 kills per set with an attacking percentage of .308 after the season. She led the Tigers in kills, hitting percentage, total blocks, and blocks per set as she and DWU volleyball went 25-10 overall this season. Dwight was also ranked eighth in the nation for kills. Dwight tallied season highs against No. 11 Central Methodist, Briar Cliff, and Dordt with 21 kills. Her season-high in blocks was against in-state rival Dakota State with eight total blocks.
In the Tigers’ five post-season matches, Dwight notched 56 kills and averaged 3.11 kills per set while having 22 total blocks in those five matches. She tallied a post-season high in kills against Northwestern in the GPAC quarterfinals with 17. In blocks, Dwight tallied a total of five blocks in four of the team’s five matches.
