MITCHELL — Koln Oppold led the way with 20 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for the Tigers as Dakota Wesleyan defeated Dakota State at the Corn Palace on Wednesday night 74-52.

The Tigers outrebounded DSU 47-30 and dominated in the paint with 44 points coming from inside. DWU had five players score in double digits in the victory. Mason Larson scored 11, and Ace Zorr, Jeffrey Schuch and Alan Kikwake all finished with 10 points.

Jaxon Simons led DSU with 14 points.

The Tigers are back at home on Saturday against Dickinson State. This will be the home opener for the DWU women’s team. Tipoff for the women’s game is scheduled for 2 p.m., and the men will follow at 4. Pregame coverage on 105.9 FM and KMIT.com at 1:40 p.m.
