MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU), in conjunction with the Mitchell Chamber of Commerce and the South Dakota Secretary of State’s Office, has released an economics report on the City of Mitchell.  The effort was spearheaded by DWU business students under the direction of Professor Tracy Dice.

Among the findings of the report; Mitchell has seen 35 new businesses set up in the city since 2017, that represents 4% growth, while there are approximately 550 businesses operating in Mitchell.  In addition, the report found that 54% of Mitchell’s working population makes less than $50,000 a year, 37% make between $50.000 and $100,000 and 9% make over $100,000.
