MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) The Davison County Commission unanimously approved a resolution establishing speed zones across the county highway system during its Sept. 1 meeting.

County highways not otherwise marked or posted have a speed limit of 55 mph. The resolution establishes the following speed zones:

  • 251st Street, 410th Avenue to 411th Avenue — 40 mph
  • 252nd Street, 406.75th Avenue to 408th Avenue/North Ohlman Street — 45 mph
  • 253rd Street, 407th Avenue to 408th Avenue/North Ohlman Street — 25 mph
  • 254th Street, 404.75th Avenue to 407.25th Avenue — 50 mph
  • 254th Street, 407.25th Avenue to 408th Avenue/South Ohlman Street — 40 mph
  • 255th Street, 407th Avenue to 408th Avenue — 25 mph
  • 255th Street, 410.25th Avenue to 411th Avenue — 40 mph
  • 256th Street, 408th Avenue to 409th Avenue — 40 mph
  • 257th Street, 409th Avenue to S.D. Highway 37 — 30 mph

The resolution states the speed zones will be conspicuously posted at the beginning and end of each zone.
