The Dell Rapids Mudcats are South Dakota’s 2021 Class B state amateur baseball champions after a 16-1 win over Flandreau on Sunday afternoon at Cadwell Park in Mitchell. The game was halted after six innings. The Mudcats smashed 13 hits, with Dalton Lehnen and Mark Abrahamson hitting home runs. On the mound, Kris Regas fanned 8 for Dell Rapids. Regas and Lehnen were named co-MVPs. Meanwhile, Flandreau committed six errors. The Mudcats finished with a 19-4 record.
In Class A, Renner blanked Harrisburg 2-0 on Sunday at Cadwell Park. It’s the 22nd state title for the Monarchs, and their seventh since 2013.
