The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team defeated Northwestern 70-61 on Wednesday night at the Corn Palace. The Lady Tigers jumped out to an 18-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 35-28 at the half. The two teams combined to score only 20 points in the third quarter. Taliyah Hayes led DWU with 15 points, while Emma Yost scored 14. Morgan Edelman grabbed 10 rebounds and also scored 13 points. Molly Schany of Northwestern led all scorers with 18 points. DWU is now 14-5 overall and 9-4 in the GPAC. Northwestern fell to 11-8 overall and 7-6 in the GPAC.
