MILBANK, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota officials have confirmed the destructive emerald ash borer has now reached Milbank. The Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is expanding its quarantine zone to include Grant County, adding to 12 other affected communities like Sioux Falls, Brookings, and Canton. The quarantine bans moving firewood and ash materials out of those areas, a key move as summer campers hit the road. DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts urges folks to buy it where you burn it to help stop the spread. Homeowners near Milbank who want to save their ash trees are urged to act fast and contact a commercial applicator. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
