MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW)  Two petitions to run for Mitchell mayor, and one petition for a city council seat have been turned in to the City Finance Office.  Incumbent Mayor Bob Everson turned in his signed petition today.  Challenger Jordan Hanson has also turned in a petition to run for mayor.  In Ward 4, Don Everson has turned in a petition to run for the seat currently held by longtime Mitchell City Council member Jeff Smith.  Everson ran in the last city council election and was defeated by Susan Tjarks, who was the incumbent.  Petitions for the June 4th city and school board election can be taken out now and must be returned by the end of the day with the required signatures on Monday, March 25th.
