MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Voters in Davison and Hanson counties have elected the inaugural seven-member board for the new Davison-Hanson Ambulance District. The board will oversee efforts to secure ambulance coverage for rural areas. Elected were Kyle Baker, John Millan, and Sara Jorgensen for Davison County; Don Huber, Heidi Berg, and Brian Leitheiser for Hanson County; and Jared Nesheim for the at-large seat. The board will meet for the first time today to organize and work toward submitting a budget by the end of the month. The district is expected to generate about $700,000 in tax revenue to fund EMS staff and equipment, helping maintain ambulance service for the area’s 7,000 rural residents.
