MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELL NOW) A former Davison County correctional officer will face no jail time after pleading guilty on Tuesday to hiring for sexual activity. 35-year old Marco Mora was fined $400 and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, all suspended. The Davison County Sheriff’s Office received a report in December about a corrections officer engaging in illegal activity. Due to the allegation being made against an employee of the Sheriff’s Office, the Mitchell Police Department was brought in to investigate. During the investigation, it was determined that Mora had paid two females in Davison County for sex. He also admitted to paying several different women in other counties for sex. Mora was terminated from his job after he was charged.
