The Mitchell boys’ varsity soccer team kicked off the season last Friday night at Joe Quintal field in a defensive first half vs the visiting Harrisburg Tigers as the first half ended in a 1-1 tie. The Kernels boys would rally the offense scoring three 2nd half goals thanks to the hat trick by Karim Ical and the Kernels would go on to the Victory over the Harrisburg Tigers boys’ varsity soccer team winning by the final of 4 to 2. The Kernel boys in a quick turnaround at Tea High School lost Saturday to Tea Area by the final of 5 to nothing. The 1-1 Mitchell Kernels boys’ varsity soccer team is in action at home tonight taking on the visiting Rapid City Stevens boys soccer team at 4 pm.

The Mitchell girls’ varsity soccer team has now started the season 0 and 2 in two very tough matchups. Losing last Friday night to last year’s state champions the visiting Harrisburg Tigers by the final of 2 to nothing. Then they hit the road on Saturday in a road loss vs Tea Area by the final of 4 to nothing. The Kernels girls are in action tonight at Joe Quintal Field vs the visiting Rapid City Stevens girls’ soccer team at 6 pm.

The DWU Tigers Volleyball game this Saturday vs Dakota State is a road game not a home game as listed and will take place at the Dakota State Field House in Madison, SD starting at 3:00 p.m. The Lady Tigers Volleyball game vs Dakota State will take place in Madison starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Mitchell Football is selling Kernel Cards again this year.  Blitz Day is Saturday, August 24th from 10 AM to 3 PM.  Contact an MHS football player or Head Coach Pat Larson (605-630-9069) to purchase.  Sales end on August 24th.
