MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The steel framework for the Dakota State Applied Research Lab is beginning to take shape on theIf you aren’t a registered voter in South Dakota but you want to cast a ballot in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election, you have until 5pm local time on Monday (Oct. 21, 2024) to fill out a voter registration form.
If you aren’t sure if you’re registered under your current address, Secretary of State Monae Johnson says you can go to the VIP– Voter Information Portal– on the Secretary of State’s website to check.
Voters are also able to use the VIP portal to see a sample ballot, which Johnson says you can fill out and bring with you to vote.
Absentee or early voting is taking place now. Johnson says if you need to request a ballot, it’s best to do that sooner rather than later.
Voter registration information is available on the Secretary of State’s website at https://sdsos.gov. A voter registration form may be downloaded from the website and returned to your county auditor. In addition, you may register at one of the following locations:
· Driver license exam stations
· Public assistance agencies providing food stamps, Medicaid, TANF, or WIC
· Department of Human Services offices that provide assistance to the disabled
· Military recruitment offices
· Secretary of State’s Office
