MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — Students looking for prom attire can shop for a free gown during the 15th annual Glass Slipper Giveaway on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at RiverTree Church in Mitchell.
Organizers say the event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church, located at 601 N. Sanborn Blvd., across from Taco John’s. The giveaway offers free new and like-new prom dresses, and there is no application process — anyone is welcome to shop for one dress to wear to prom at any high school.
A limited number of scheduled appointment times will be available. All other shoppers will select dresses in the order of their day-of registration, organizers said.
Donations of gowns, shoes and accessories are accepted year-round at RiverTree Church. Donated dresses should have been originally purchased within the last five years, according to the announcement. Donations are accepted Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
