PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Week two of the Government shutdown…most of the checks are not in the mail. Senate Majority Leader John Thune and the Trump White House are cranking up the pressure, and Senate Democrats remain dug in. They insist there must be an agreement on extending Obamacare health insurance premium tax credits. Thune says that’s a non-starter…and many federal employees are missing their first paycheck as a result. CNN reports Senate Democrats are settling in to let the shutdown continue for several more weeks. In the meantime, the Trump Administration is shifting money to make sure military members get paid.
