MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota’s manufacturing scene is really picking up, according to Governor Larry Rhoden. He recently pointed to companies like RPM and Associates in Rapid City, which make parts for mining and power plants. Other local businesses like RPM Innovations and VRC Metal Systems are making waves too, building high-tech parts for aerospace and defense that are saving the military millions. Governor Rhoden said a big part of their success comes from new technology and homegrown talent trained at places like the School of Mines and SDSU.
