A hearing was held in the case of a Mitchell man who is accused of stabbing another man to death last summer in downtown Mitchell. 59-year old Robert Ladenburger is charged with murder in the stabbing death of Rodney Bahm.

The incident occurred in August when Mitchell police were called to an apartment building on West 2nd Avenue where they found a large amount of blood and a trail of blood that led them to the Mitchell Public Safety Building. They found Bahm, who had been stabbed several times. Bahm died the next day at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital.

Several motions made by the defense involving cell phone evidence, data, and mental health and substance treatment records were granted. Ladenburger also must comply with an order to allow his DNA to be collected. He had resisted previous efforts for the DNA testing. A hearing was scheduled for June.
