Crafters typically use a wreath form made of metal, grapevine or foam, along with 22- to 24-gauge paddle wire, clippers, floral tape and a selection of greenery, flowers or boughs. Decorative accessories such as ornaments, pinecones and ribbons can be added at the end to customize the look.
Once materials are prepared, wreath makers create small bundles of greenery secured with floral tape. These bundles are then attached to the wreath form using paddle wire, overlapping each bundle slightly to cover stems and produce a full, fan-shaped appearance. The process continues around the entire form until the wreath is complete.
