The Howard girls’ golf team won the team championship at the Cornbelt Conference meet, played at Valley View Golf Course in Freeman.
Irene-Wakonda’s Bella Erickson was the individual champion, shooting a 92, but the Tigers had two golfers just one stroke back as they posted a 280 to take the team title. Meanwhile, Bridgewater-Emery’s Shaylee Longe finished in second place in the individual standings with a 92.
Hanson’s Jayden Kayser was the boys’ individual champion at the meet with a score of 77, while Bridgewater-Emery’s Jackson Stahl finished close behind as he shot a 77. Bridgewater-Emery picked up the team win as they posted a 271 on the day.
