Jacquelin passed away on November 2, 2022 at Firesteel Health Care. A graveside service will be at 11 AM on May 30, 2023 at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell.
Jacquelin was born August 26, 1932 in Washington, Missouri to Victor Burt Gaut and Ruby Ellen (Thomas) Gaut. She graduated from Malta Bend High School in 1950. She married George L. Hartwig in March of 1951; the couple had three sons. George passed away in 1964. Jacquelin drove a school bus for 15 years and at time worked a second job in different restaurants.
Jacquelin met Ronald Wright in 1972 at church and she reached out to him, bringing him soup during a time of illness. They married on May 5, 1973 in Independence, MO. She helped Ronald with his ministry at various churches. The couple moved to South Dakota in 1978. She was a huge help with their feeder pig farm in Parkston for several years and a milk testing job Ronald had after that. The couple moved to Mitchell in 2006.
Jacquelin was an amazing cook. She loved working with her hands and giving her crafts away. She was faithful, loving, and kind.
Jacquelin is survived by her husband; Ronald, children; George R. “Randy” (Laurel) Hartwig and Ronald Carl (Charlotte) Hartwig, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Hartwig, a son, Richard Leland Hartwig, two brothers and a sister.
