PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Non-farm payrolls increased by 206,000 in June. The unemployment rate rose to 4.1% in June. South Dakota has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation at just 2%.
The employment rate for those of prime working age, 25-54, rose to 83.7% which is the highest labor participation rate in the job market in the last 22 years. Hourly earnings for those employed are up 3.9% compared to June of 2023.
