MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Susan Kiepke resigned as Davison County Auditor to take a job in the private sector.  Chief Deputy Auditor James Matthews resigned in protest over the Davison County Commission’s move to combine the Auditor and Treasurer’s Office into one Finance Office.  The second reading of the ordinance to complete that merger will be considered at the Davison County Commission’s next regularly scheduled meeting on September 10, 2024, at 9am.

Kathy Wingert is another Chief Deputy in the Auditor’s Office.  She has been employed in that capacity since June of 2024.  Ms. Wingert also serves as the Human Resources Director for the Auditor’s Office.  Before being employed for Davison County, Wingert worked for the South Dakota Department of Labor for two years and then at Dakota Mental Health.  Kathy Wingert begins her new duties as the Davison County Auditor immediately.
