The Mitchell Kernel boys basketball team opened their season with a win at the Corn Palace.  Dylan Soulek scored 16 points as the Kernels downed Huron 61-47 in a game that was postponed from Saturday.  Caden Hinker added 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.  Charlie McCardle added 10 points off the bench for Mitchell.  The Kernels are in action on Tuesday night as they host Watertown.

The Mitchell Kernel girls basketball team fell to Huron 50-26 as they committed 17 turnovers and shot 29 percent from the field.  Sawyer Stoebner led the Kernels with 10 points.  Sarah Sebert added 7 for Mitchell.  The Kernel girls travel to Watertown on Tuesday.
