SIOUX FALLS, SD (MITCHELLNOW) A balanced scoring attack and a strong fourth quarter helped Pierre edge Mitchell 48-47 for fifth place at the State Class AA Girls Basketball tournament in Sioux Falls on Saturday afternoon.
Ryann Barry was a beast on both ends of the court by finishing with 16 points and seven rebounds. Lennix DuPris had 14 points. Pierre avenged an earlier season loss to the Kernels and finished 17-7 overall.
Sophomore Addie Siemsen led Mitchell with 16 points and Senior Sawyer Stoebner added 12 points and nine rebounds while Junior Lauren VanOverscheide chipped in with ten points. Mitchell finished the season with an overall record of 20-4.
