Kernel Girls’ Golf Team Takes Second Place at Mitchell Invite

The Mitchell High girls’ golf team settled for a second place finish at Friday’s Mitchell Invitational at Lakeview Golf Course.

The Kernels shot a 328 as a team on the day, while Sioux Falls O’Gorman took the team title as they shot a 317. This was the third straight tournament the Kernels finished second to the Knights, but Mitchell had several strong individual performances as they had 4 golfers finish in the top 15.

Harrisburg’s Reese Jansa was the individual champion on the day, shooting a 4-under par 68, while Mitchell’s Masy Mock tied for fourth place with a 5-over par 77. Ella Flippin had the next best score for the Kernels with an 82.

Mitchell’s next event is at the Sioux Falls Washington invite on Monday.
