The inauguration of Dr. Daniel Kittle as Dakota Wesleyan University’s president was held yesterday at the Sherman Center on the Dakota Wesleyan campus. His speech’s theme was A Community On Purpose.  In it, he thanked family, friends, DWU faculty and staff, previous presidents, and students.  He also spoke of the challenges facing higher education and expressed hope for the future.

Several speakers, including community leaders, DWU faculty and staff, family, and friends, presented Kittle with welcoming gifts.  DWU music professors Clinton and Erin Desmond and DWU students provided music during the ceremony.  After the inauguration, a long line of attendees shook hands with and conversed with Kittle and his family.

Kittle is Dakota Wesleyan’s 21st president.  He replaces Amy Novak, who resigned to take a president position at a college in Iowa.
