A Mitchell man charged in the stabbing death of another Mitchell man last year has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to a 25-year prison sentence for 60-year old Robert Ladenburger. Ladenburger had been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree manslaughter, and aggravated assault. Those charges are now dismissed. In August of 2020, Mitchell police were called to an apartment building on West 2nd Avenue where they found a large amount of blood and a trail of blood that led them to the Mitchell Public Safety Building. They found 56-year old Rodney Bahm, who had been stabbed several times. Bahm died the next day at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Sentencing was set for October 5th.
