MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Lake Mitchell is getting a major cleanup. The lake is scheduled to be drained, dredged, cleaned, and refilled in the coming months. The 25-million-dollar project is expected to start this fall and wrap up by 2027. It addresses algae and phosphorus issues in the lake. Restocking is planned after the work is completed.
