LINCOLN COUNTY, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Lincoln County leaders are weighing in on possible sites for a new state prison. During the latest commission meeting, officials unanimously agreed that any new facility in the county must align with Lincoln County’s comprehensive plan. The response comes after a request from the Lieutenant Governor’s office and more than an hour of public input. The prison task force is looking at about 14 locations statewide. Their next meeting is set for June 3rd in Pierre.
