SIOUX FALL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The longtime face of the Sioux Falls Police Department is getting ready to retire. Public Information Officer Sam Clemens is stepping down later this month after 25 years with the department. He started as a patrol officer in 2000 and became the department’s spokesperson in 2008. Clemens said it’s a job he says he never expected but grew to love. Taking over the role is Sergeant Aaron Benson, a 20-year veteran who says he’s ready to continue the mission of transparency. The department also plans to expand its briefings to cover broader public safety topics. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
