A man who went on an arson spree in Lake Andes last December has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, with four years suspended. 27-year old Donavan Sully faced a maximum of 20 years in prison after setting multiple fires last December, including one which destroyed the Native American Women’s Health Education Resource Center. He pleaded guilty to the charges of second-degree arson and reckless burning or exploding. Other charges were dropped in exchange for the guilty pleas. Sully also pleaded guilty to a separate count for spitting in a law enforcement officer’s face. The two-year sentence for that charge will run concurrently to the charges related to the fire.
