MITCHELL, SD (Mitchell Now) — The Mitchell Street Department will wrap up chip sealing for the week on Wednesday with a mixture of roads, parking lots, and boat docks.

The pavement affected includes:

• Franks Bay Park lot
• West End Boat Dock
• The 1400 and 1500 blocks of Sawgrass Avenue
• The old mall approach on North Sanborn Road
• The Public Beach Parking Lot
• The 6000 block of Jamaica Street
• 5700-6000 blocks of Livesay Lane
• 2500 and 2600 blocks of Anthony Avenue
• 407th Avenue from North Harmon to Maui Drive
• 5600 and 5700 blocks of Island Court
• 3000-3200 blocks of Bills Beach Drive
• 2900-3300 blocks of Canal Circle

Homeowners living along the streets impacted should have their vehicles parked off the road by 7 a.m., as well as all sprinkler systems turned off, and sump pump hoses pulled away from the gutter.

The department also announced a future closure of East 6th Avenue from Lawler to Burr, which will go into effect on Thursday at 8 a.m. Both intersections will close, along with the avenue itself. The shut down will allow crews to make utility improvements.
