Aberdeen’s non-profit housing organization, Homes Are Possible, Inc. (HAPI) is providing in-person, homebuying education in Mitchell on April 22 and 23 at the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce. While HAPI has built 265 homes in eleven subdivisions over 2 decades, they also provide home buyer education, closing-cost assistance, and rehabilitation grants.
“In order to introduce HAPI’s housing assistance programs to the Mitchell area, we’re offering training specifically for homebuyers and homebuying professionals,” shared Rachel Dix, HAPI’s Homebuyer Education (HBE) Instructor.
All prospective home buyers are invited to attend homebuyer education (HBE) on Saturday April 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided by BankWest.
HBE is a requirement for both the First-Time Homebuyer program with the South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) and HAPI’s financial assistance programs.
To register for the Mitchell Area Community Homebuyer Education course go to HAPI’s web site at https://bit.ly/HAPIMitchellSD.
South Dakota Realtors can earn four elective continuing education hours by taking the course.
Both educational courses are funded by the SDHDA, free to the public, and held at the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce at 601 N. Main Street.
