MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell Board of Education will meet today to talk about a resolution opposing the proposed school voucher programs in South Dakota. Superintendent Joe Childs is concerned these bills could take funding away from public schools. The board will also go over some personnel updates, including new hires and transfers, and discuss the superintendent’s annual review. Other topics include declaring a student-built house as surplus, possibly offering Joe Childs a new contract, and setting the date for the 2025 school election. The meeting is open to the public and will be livestreamed.
