The Mitchell City Council last week approved the applications for renewal of four medical cannabis licenses: FSST Pharms, Genesis Farms, The Flower Shop, and Raftis Enterprise Mitchell. City Attorney Justin Johnson says two of the four, Raftis (Superior Buds near Wal-Mart) and Genesis (located in the former OverTime building) are currently in operation. The Flower Shop, located at the corner of 1st Avenue and Main Street, is waiting for approval for building improvements before they begin operations. Johnson said he does not know what the plans are for FSST Pharms.
When setting up the requirements for the dispensary licenses, the city council previously voted to cap Mitchell’s dispensary license number at five. Johnson says one of those licenses will be available in January.
He says the city set up the licenses so they must be in active use within a certain time frame.
