MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell City Council meets at 6 PM at City Hall in downtown Mitchell. The council will consider renewing the Corn Palace Service Agreement between the city and the Mitchell Area Chamber of Commerce. The agreement allows the Chamber to operate their gift shop on the main floor of the Corn Palace for $165,000. The agreement states that the 2024 rental rate will be increased by the Consumer Price Index for the 2025 rental rate if it is renewed. The council will also consider awarding the bid for construction of a jetty and first phases of a marina including equipment and sidewalk installation along Lake Mitchell to Sioux Falls-based Soukup Construction for $2.6 million.
