MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) The Mitchell City Council will take up a busy agenda today including the possibility of building the city’s first roundabout. The proposed design would replace the intersection at West 23rd Avenue and North Ohlman Street, where a recent study found a single-lane roundabout would best handle traffic. Cost estimates put the project near $910,000. Ahead of the regular meeting, the council will hold a work session on the city’s proposed 2026 budget. Other items include updates on Lake Mitchell, a $5 million bond for wastewater improvements, design plans for a new water distribution building, and levying assessments for Main Street’s Business Improvement District and nuisance abatements. The budget work session begins at 5 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Both are open to the public. For more Government stories from MitchellNow.com, Click Here.
