MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) It was a fitting tribute in Mitchell Wednesday as city officials, residents, and family members gathered to dedicate Sebert’s Beach in honor of former Mayor Lou Sebert, who died in July at age 89. The longtime public servant, who led Mitchell from 2006 to 2012 and served in the South Dakota Legislature before that, lived next to the park for more than two decades, often cleaning it himself.
