MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Nine-year-old Laken of Mitchell asked the Mitchell Fire Department and City Council what happened to “Sparky”, the ceramic dog that had been in residence in front of the Mitchell Fire Department but is no longer.
The Fire Department will have a “boot fundraiser” at the Farmer’s Market/Municipal Band Concert on Wednesday July 17, 2024, from 5-7pm. There will be fire hats for the kids, a fire truck on display and other activities. The public is invited to attend, enjoy the band concert (the theme will be “Christmas in July” for the band’s selections), shop at the farmer’s market and help raise money for a new Sparky.
