The Mitchell track and field teams had several top 5 finishes, including two individual champions, at the First Dakota Relays on Thursday in Yankton.

Adaya Plastow took 1st place in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles with a 48.76, while Ryley Johansen was the winner in the boys’ high jump, with Carter Moller taking 3rd place.  Johansen also placed 3rd in the 200-meter dash with a score of 23.30.

Some other notable individual top 5 finishes for the Kernels include freshman Mia Mullenmeister, who placed 3rd in the girls’ 100-meter dash with a 13.23 and took 5th in the 200-meter run with a 27.55. Sophomore Lizzie Tyler was 3rd place in the girls’ 400-meter dash, sophomore Maddie Lord took 5th place in the girls’ triple jump, while junior Carter Moller placed 5th in the boys’ 400-meter dash with a score of 54.14.

Mitchell also had top 5 finishes in two team categories, including 2nd place for the boys’ 4×100-meter relay, run by Parker Phillips, Ryley Johansen, Treyson Schulz, and Lukas Bennett. Meanwhile, the girls’ 4×400-meter relay team of Adelyn Prunty, Madeline Vogel, Adaya Plastow, and Lizzie Tyler took 3rd place.
