Mitchell Girls’ Golf Team Settles For Third Place at Sioux Falls Washington Invite

The Mitchell girls’ golf team had to settle for a third-place finish at the Sioux Falls Washington invite on Monday at Willow Run Golf Course.

The Kernels shot a 340 as a team on the day as they tied Aberdeen Central for 2nd place, but lost the playoff tiebreaker, while Sioux Falls O’Gorman took the team title with a 319.

Harrisburg’s Reese Jansa was the individual champion, shooting a 2-under par 68, while Mitchell’s Masy Mock and Ella Flippin tied for seventh place with an 83. Shannon McCormick and Lauren Sutcliffe each shot 75s to lead O’Gorman to their first place finish as a team.

The Kernels’ next event is at the Brookings invite Thursday.
