MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) There’s a push to bring varsity-level Legion baseball back to Mitchell. Officials from the South Dakota American Legion and the Mitchell Baseball Association are meeting behind closed doors in Pierre on Thursday to talk about next steps. Some older players had previously formed an independent team, the Mitchell Aces. The high school varsity team continues to play in the spring, but whether Legion ball returns is now in the hands of the Legion’s Athletic Commission.
