Mitchell Man Pleads Not Guilty to Fourth-Degree Rape of Minor

A 22-year-old Mitchell man, Riley Brown, has pleaded not guilty to a fourth-degree rape charge involving alleged sexual contact with a minor. Prosecutors say the incidents occurred multiple times in 2021 when the girl was 14 or 15 years old.

MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A 22-year-old Mitchell man has pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree rape in connection with alleged sexual activity with a minor. Riley Brown is accused of having sexual contact multiple times in 2021 with a girl who was 14 or 15 at the time. Brown told police he believed the victim was 16 but admitted he never confirmed her age. The Class 3 felony charge carries up to 15 years in prison.
