MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Memberships at the Mitchell Recreation Center and Indoor Aquatic Center will see a 3% rate increase in 2026. The Parks and Recreation board approved the hike, which raises annual family memberships to $811.75, youth to $351, and adult memberships to $540.75. Monthly auto-renew rates will also go up by $1–$2, while day passes at the facilities will stay the same. At the Hitchcock Park outdoor pool, day passes will rise by $2 to $22 in 2026. Officials say the increase helps cover higher utility costs tied to new amenities, including a 3,500-square-foot fitness area and indoor playground. Despite concerns about cost, the Recreation Center is on track for a record year, expecting 100,000 check-ins and more than 3,500 members.
